Academy Espresso Bars is a family owned group of speciality coffee shops with a laid back euro cafe/bar vibe. As you will see on all our cups and t-shirts our slogan is ‘Work Hard and Be Nice to People’, you’ll always receive a warm welcome and fantastic service at Academy.
Originating at The Pumphouse – Barry, Academy Coffee is growing with several venues across south Wales in Barry, Cardiff and Penarth. Each having their own individual look and feel, from Victorian industrial brickwork to modern shipping containers, but all offering the same Academy high levels of food and drink quality and friendly hospitality.
We serve premium coffee all day, seven days a week; and also offer a range of savoury and sweet brunch options. When the sun goes down and the weekend approaches, our Academy venues come alive as a cool evening setting for your night ahead. Whether you still need a caffeine fix or you want to indulge in our divine cocktails, fine wines or our craft beers the choice is yours! Spend your weekend evenings relaxing with a tailored range of speciality drinks.
