Known for previously owning restaurants in Cardiff: The Pot (award winning) & La Pentola.
We met working in the same restaurant & discovered we shared the same passion to open our own food business… a year later that’s what we did! (Alongside getting married & having 2 boys!)
We have over 30 years of hospitality experience between us, with Rhys specialising in Italian food.
Street food was always going to be the next step for us, but with a little extra time to brainstorm in lockdown, we thought it’s now or never!
We started off by trialing “Dirty Gnocchi®” in our (then) restaurant:
We describe it as an Italian version of Dirty Fries: Deep fried gnocchi, in paprika & chilli, loaded with cheese & pancetta & topped with aioli. It became most popular dish on the menu & with that we kept expanding, creating veggie, vegan alternatives.
We transformed our first food trailer into our own little Dirty Gnocchi® Truck, & have since been based in various sites around Cardiff such as Depot, Corporation Yard, Sticky Fingers & Motel Nights.
We plan to keep expanding with festivals & residencies booked in for 2022 & catering for events such as weddings & parties.
We believe we have built a strong, unique offering of modern Italian street food.
We have something for everyone; from meat lovers to veggies, cheese lovers to vegans & gluten free & child options.
We do fresh pasta & arancinis with a choice of different toppings/fillings
& the star of the show… a giant cheese wheel which we use to infuse our pasta dishes on… You really have to see it to understand.
