WHO WE ARE
Say hello to The Greedy Bear, the brainchild of David and Caroline, named after David’s Labrador Retriever, Bear! With a love for travel and a passion for food, we have combined our extensive background in hospitality and catering to bring a taste of Pan Asia to South Wales.
BACKGROUND
David was born and raised in Malaysia, where food is always the main topic of any conversation. Missing the simplicity and unique street food and hawker style concept, he teamed up with Caroline to start The Greedy Bear. Our first permanent kitchen opened in DEPOT Cardiff in 2021, as well as unit in Goodsheds, we are thrilled to bring our flavours to Newport Market.
WHAT WE DO
Our aim is to bring the vibrant flavours of Southeast Asia to South Wales with a bold and creative menu. Our current favourite is the Glazed Korean short rib bowl! We are committed to using fresh, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, and all our packaging is recyclable or compostable. We source local and fresh ingredients, expect bold and exciting flavours, combining the best of both worlds.

- Noodles: Stir-fried and noodle soup dishes that bring comfort and excitement.
- Bao Buns: Soft and fluffy buns filled with a variety of savoury fillings.
- Small Plates: Perfect for sharing and tasting different flavours.
- Lunch Menu: Sharing platters, and lunch items available.
