The Greedy Bear is the brain child of David and Caroline and named after David’s Labrador Retriever,Bear! With a love for travel and a passion for food, we have both combined our extensive background in hospitality and catering to bring a taste of Pan Asia to South Wales.
David was born and raised in Malaysia where food is always the main topic of any conversation. While missing the simplicty and unqiue street food and hawker style concept he teamed up with Caroline to start The Greedy Bear, with their first permanent kitchen in DEPOT Cardiff in 2021.
The aim is to bring the flavours of South East Asia to South Wales in a bold and creative menu.
A new and exciting menu is planned for Newport Market. Expect rice bowls, noodles, bao buns and small plates. All packed with exciting flavour of the East. Our current favourite is the Glazed Korean short rib bowl!!
Where possible all our our ingredients are locally sourced and all packaging used is recyclable or compostable.
