WHO WE ARE
Academy Espresso Bars is a family-owned group of specialty coffee shops with a laid-back Euro café/bar vibe. Our slogan, “Work Hard and Be Nice to People,” is proudly displayed on all our cups and t-shirts, reflecting our commitment to providing a warm welcome and fantastic service at every Academy location.
BACKGROUND
Academy Coffee originated at The Pumphouse in Barry and has since expanded to several venues across South Wales, including Barry, Cardiff, Newport, Swansea and Penarth. Each venue boasts its own unique look and feel, from Victorian industrial brickwork to modern shipping containers, yet all share the same high standards of food and drink quality and friendly hospitality that define the Academy experience.

At Academy Espresso Bars, we serve premium coffee all day, seven days a week, accompanied by a delicious range of savoury and sweet brunch options. As the sun sets and the weekend approaches, our venues transform into cool evening spots perfect for winding down or gearing up for the night ahead. Whether you’re in the mood for a caffeine fix or looking to indulge in divine cocktails, fine wines, or craft beers, Academy has you covered. We are situated in the main Food Court of Newport Market so you can enjoy our drinks with any street food meal you choose!
