Hi! I’m Tim, owner of Friendly Neighbourhood Comics, the longest running comic-book store in Newport.
Background
There is a long history of comics being available in Newport Market, dating back to the 60s. From local newsagents as they were then, to our specialised direct selling of all the latest American import comics today, comic fans in Newport can expect a warm welcome as they seek out the hot books of the moment, or a classic issue from yesteryear.
What we do
Today, with a whole new generation of fans coming to comics via the highly successful superhero movies currently filling multiplexes, we can provide you with all the latest adventures of your favourite comic-book heroes. For our regular customers, we provide an advance ordering service so you’ll never miss a key issue – just let us know which comics you’d like; but, we also have an absolute treasure-trove of classic comics dating all the way back to the Silver Age. Nostalgia buffs will love browsing our excellent selection of treasury editions, hard-back annuals and beloved British weeklies of the 70s and 80s. We also have a great range of comics and graphic novels suitable for younger readers.
