Who are we
We are K-Way Korean Food House. We are a Korean family run business bringing the authentic taste of Korea to Newport.
Background
We are from South Korea and are now based here in Wales. We have often volunteered in the community cooking for various events. Our food has always generated interest and the positive feedback has inspired us to open our own business. Korean food is nutritionally well balanced with rice as a base, a rainbow of different vegetables, and beef or eggs. We love food from home and noticed the gap in the Welsh market. So, we decided to risk it all and set up a stall here in Newport Market to bring authentic Korean food to Newport.
What we do
We are offering rice dishes such as bibimbap (mixed rice bowl), kimbap (think a Korean style of sushi rolls without the raw fish), and spicy kimchi fried rice. Each of these dishes is available with a choice of meat or eggs, or even as a vegan dish. In addition, we will offer Korean street food that you may have seen your favourite kpop and k-drama stars eating. We have our take on Korean fried chicken served on skewers, and the increasingly popular Korean corn dog which is a hot dog wrapped in crispy batter with fried potato bits.
