Low & Slow Barbecue was founded by husband-and-wife team Jack and Lyndsey, who turned a passion for authentic barbecue into one of the South West’s most popular street food brands.
What began as a small pop-up outside their local butcher on Gloucester Road in 2016 quickly gained a loyal following. Following the success of their early events, Jack and Lyndsey took the business full-time, becoming regulars at Bristol’s best-loved street food markets and festivals. In 2019, they secured a permanent home in the iconic Glass Arcade at St Nicholas Market, where queues soon became a daily sight for their award-worthy barbecue.
Now bringing their famous slow-cooked flavours to Newport, Low & Slow Barbecue can be found on Newport Market’s High Street, serving the same recipes that have been perfected over years of dedication to authentic barbecue.
Every dish is prepared fresh each day, with meats smoked low and slow before being served straight from the smoker. Sides are made fresh and replenished throughout the day, and unlike many barbecue restaurants, nothing is reheated—ensuring every meal is packed with the quality and flavour that has made Low & Slow Barbecue a favourite with food lovers across the region.
Whether you’re craving tender brisket, slow-smoked pulled pork or flavour-packed barbecue classics, Low & Slow Barbecue is a must-visit on your next trip to Newport Market.
